Hotel Re delle Alpi

Hotel Spa & Wellness

In the world of hospitality, interior design plays a key role in creating a welcoming atmosphere for relaxing and unwinding.
Surfaces in particular add to an eye-catching aesthetic ambiance, as demonstrated by Ariostea technical ceramic panels, which, unsurprisingly, are laid in numerous luxury hotels.

For resorts high in the mountains, the interior ambiance is part of an irresistible overall experience embracing landscape, sports, relaxation and good food, where clients can spend time away from the city bustle.
One such example is a recent project at the 4-star Hotel Re delle Alpi. Situated at 2000 meters on La Thuile ski slopes, Val d’Aosta, Italy, its regal presence with a view of Mont Blanc "reigns over the surrounding area, offering adventure, wellness and excellence in a scenic location".

New, modern facilities adjoin the historical building, constructed in 1924 and once a military barracks for border guards, enabling guests to access the hotel from the new reception and lounge area.
Designed by Studio D73, the international architecture and interior design practice with architecture by Studio Associato LGL, the innovative resort features an elegant gourmet restaurant, extensive spa and wellness area (with various types of sauna, swimming pool, and Turkish and Mediterranean baths) together with 12 new bedrooms which include 3 executive suites and 5 junior suites equipped with private wellness areas.

In general, the renovation project totaled 1,400 square meters, greatly expanding the accommodation available. The hotel comprises 26 luxurious rooms, new lounge areas, and a wellness area complete with changing rooms and dedicated reception, which is available for guests not staying at the hotel. Renovation of the bar area in the historic building, together with a new pergola and redesigned ski room complete the project.
Ariostea tiles have been used for surfaces in all Re delle Alpi communal areas, due to their "high-tech performance and design which blends perfectly with the surroundings.

Studio D73 opted for the Ariostea Legni High-Tech, Ultra Pietre, Ultra Marmi, Pietre Naturali High-Tech and Materie High-Tech collections, due to their unparalleled versatility, functionality and elegance.
More specifically, Ariostea’s Legni High-Tech in Rovere Provenzale, Corda, Noce and Impero were the natural choice for flooring in the spa, swimming pool and bedrooms, since the look of natural wood has always been viewed as intrinsic to traditional alpine interior design. The choice was also dictated by the impressive non-slip properties of Ariostea ceramics. Walls in the Turkish baths feature striking marble effects created by 300 x 150cm large format panels, only 6mm thick, from the Ultra Marmi collection, in shades of Bianco Paonazzetto S, which accentuate the contrast between tradition and innovation.

In the bathrooms, tiles from the three dimensional Bamboo-Silk Georgette collection "create a textured effect on the walls, due also to the astute use of lighting".
Pietre Naturali High-Tech Basalto Grigio in satin finish and Black Ardesia in satin finish are also used in the bathrooms, for floor and wall tiles respectively. Ardesia, in Antracite has also been laid as exterior flooring.

Materie High-Tech tiles, in Lava Soft and Naturale, are used for flooring in communal areas. Due to the interplay of shapes and colors, these are ideal for accentuating the exquisite furnishings chosen by Studio D73 for the foyer.
