First held in 2005, SDS is a unique design event in the UK, a showcase for presentation of new trends in the sector and innovative materials for indoor and outdoor surfaces such as the big porcelain slabs in the Ultra range.
Intended primarily for architects, interior designers and lighting designers, contractors, suppliers and construction firms, Surface Design Show is a three-day event packed with presentations, seminars, debates and presentation of awards to 13 projects in 7 different categories. The theme of the 2018 edition is "When Surfaces Come Alive", and this year’s layout includes a Stone Gallery (focusing on the use of stone in construction) and a Light School looking at the relationship between light and surfaces. With 8 sizes including maxi-slabs measuring 300x150 and 300x100 and an ultralight thickness (basic thickness 6 mm), Ariostea Ultra is a leading porcelain maxi-slab.
The potential for application of Ultra slabs ranges from residential projects to public buildings and the contract industry, particularly underlining the features of the range in large-scale projects. The 8 innovative Ultra collections on display at the London event aesthetically explore the most refined material effects for porcelain (marble, onyx and resin effects, among others), offering a great variety of solutions with a bold visual and expressive impact.
